As a congregation, a community, we can do so much to offer hope, strength and comfort. Changes in privacy laws now restrict hospital chaplain offices from notifying Temple Israel about congregants who are patients. We want to visit our members. You can help us keep in contact by:

Calling Temple Israel prior to a scheduled hospital stay

During admissions, inform the hospital staff of your Temple Israel affiliation and give permission for your name to be released to the Temple Israel office

If you are unexpectedly admitted to the hospital, ask a family member or friend to call Temple Israel.

Call and tell us if someone you know is ill or in the hospital and might be helped by a visit or telephone call.
Hospital Visits
Should you or a loved one experience a stay in the hospital, please let the hospital know that you are Jewish and would welcome a clergy visit or have a family member call the Temple Israel office directly, 402-556-6536. Our clergy make regular hospital visits but they can only see you there if they know you are a patient.

Temple Israel’s caring committee makes visits to our congregants at the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home. Call the Temple Israel office to what opportunities are available! Our visits are a community effort and you will be joined by an experienced volunteer as we visit 30-35 residents.
